Hopi Low On Firewood and Food

By seniorontherun on February 3, 2010 at 9:39 am under hopi

I wanted to drop in and let everyone know that I have heard that the Hopi have run out of firewood and are low on food.  This is due to the recent bad winter storms that have hit the area.  There have been people from Evanston, Wyoming who have donated wood from their lumber company and others in Utah that are gathering food and supplies.  People here are also donating money.  If you feel there is anything you could contribute or even if you can simply keep the Hopi in your hearts and prayers, I would really appreciate that.

  1. Whitewolf Said,

I would come out there physically (to the land) to help out in every way I could, but I just don’t have the money right now to get get myself there. Of course they remain in my heart and prayers.

  2. mayra48 Said,

Where do we donate to help the Hopi?

  3. Betty Said,

Where or how can we donate to help the Hopi?

Miriam’s reply: This crisis is over. I know of one man who is still taking donations for this but it was never approved by the Hopi and he was still taking money LONG after there was a need for any wood or coal. I tell you this in case you come across his website.

The Hopi are in a crisis at the moment and I will be sharing information on this more as soon as I have the details of how we can support them. I HOPE that will be in a few more weeks. Watch my website from time to time on the News page…. I will post it there.

Thank you!!! with much love and gratitude,
    Miriam
