Here I am Miriam! (finally)

Here is collection of web sites that sell or trade seeds in Canada.

Prairie Garden Seeds www.prseeds.ca

Seeds Of Diversity – Canada’s heritage seed program  www.seeds.ca

The Canadian Garden Exchange (through Gardenweb)http://forums.gardenweb.com/forums/excan/

You also have already listed saltspring seeds in your list of favorite links.

I don’t think it is enough just to collect the seeds and store them, We need to learn how to build soil, to repair the damaged earth, to put back what has been stripped away, food will not grow just because we want it to!  We need to get our gardens off “drugs” (chemical fertalizers) learn about compost, mulching and building humus in the soil.  Your tummy will thank you!

I am planning a “Trial Run” so to speak this summer, the “zero mile diet”, (if it isn’t from my yard, don’t eat it) just to see if I can do it, and to see where I need to improve my skills.

If it doesn’t work out…. I know someone who owes me a meal or two!!  ; )

I wanted to let you know a great site for people in the USA to buy seeds!

 www.landrethseeds.com

*******************************************************************

Also this site is AMAZING and you can also trade seeds with people on this site. You need to take some time to get familiar with the site in order to learn from it.

 www.gardenweb.com

Check them both out! They were both brought to my attention by friends.

This a quick note to thank you all for being here.

This site was started so that we could all have some contact with one another and share our own experiences. The reason the book was written was so that we could FIND each other. WE are not alone in this world…. we have each other and together we can make a positive change in this world through working together.

The posts that have been made so far are really fantastic and again I would like you to know how sorry I am that there are not more posts from me.

I have been sick with a touch of the flu this week and have not been up to doing much at all. This is the first time I have had any kind of cold or flu in a long time!

Some more rest and I will be back to myself and posting again.

In the meantime… I had a friend send me an email with some great info on a wholesale seed company in the USA.    http://www.landrethseeds.com

Please check them out for yourselves to see if they could supply you with the seeds you need and or want to begin your own seed banks!

I am now off to answer some questions on the “Ask Miriam Questions” area. See you there…
